HOW TO MAKE HEALTHY BREAKFAST BURRITOS?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE McD’s breakfast burritos. It seems similar to they could be done the small some-more full of health by presumably regulating turkey sausage or bacon as well as egg-substitutes as well as the low fat cheese or even the nacho cheese spread.

Another good assistance would be if I could have up a single “batch” as well as solidify them for the complete week?

Any thoughts upon how to healthify them and/or solidify them?

I would use Whole Wheat tortillas. They also have wrap things at Trader Joes that are really healthy. I wouldn’t recommend freezing them. Rather make the ‘filling’ on Sunday and keep it in the fridge. Then every morning throw one together before you head out the door. Since everything is already prep’s it is quick and easy. As far as healthy I suggest using Egg Beaters and cook them up with tomatoes, onions and cheese. Then add lots of salsa and some avocado. That way you don’t even need to use meat.

I make great breakfast burritos. Super healthy too!

For 2 people i use 4 egg whites, 1 tablespoon milk, chopped fresh cilantro, 2 strips crumbled precooked lowfat bacon or turkey bacon, red and green pepper, onion and whatever other veggies you want to use.

Make an omelet with those ingredients.

put them on a small whole wheat/high fiber wrap with salsa and 2 tablespoons of low fat mexican mix cheese.

it tastes good and is good for you.

You could definately freeze it in single potions

The worst pars of the whole thing is of course the meat and tortillas. The meat (sausage or bacon) are full of sodium so even if you buy healtheur version yuo are eating to much sodium.

Turkey bacon is leaner but it has WAY more salt in it. And jimmy dean does make a leaner or reduced fat bulk sausage. It is a lot less calories and even has a little less sodium.

Here is what I would recomend.

Buy your own ground pork, then season it to taste to make your own sausage. Let it set in the fridge at least 1 day for the flasvor to really come together.

Srcamble some eggs or make an omlet and add lots of veggies, such as bell peppers, onions etc….

Use a kind of tortilla called “Carb Chopper” thay are whole wheat, only have 80 or 90 calories, and 4 net grams of carbs.

Everyone loves a quick and filling breakfast burrito in the morning, but we hate the way we feel about ourselves after we down a greasy, calorie packed, high fat version from a fast food drive thru on the way to work. This recipe gives us a healthy and tasty alternative that can be made ahead of time and stored in the freezer or fridge.

Step 1- In a skilled, cook hash browns according to package directions.

Step 2- Liquid Egg WhitesIn another skillet, scramble eggs. I like to use the box of liquid egg whites because they are healthier and just as delicious.

Step 3-Shred the cheese, or buy the pre-shredded cheese to save a little time. The 2% Kraft cheese is really good, and you can’t taste the difference, so it really helps keep the fat content down.

Step 4- Assemble burritos by laying out tortilla and layering in eggs, hash browns, and cheese. Roll up tightly so nothing falls out.

Step 5-Place on plastic wrap and seal up both ends. These can be stored in the refrigerator or freezer so you can grab one each day on your way to work and just zap it in the microwave.
