I’d say NO….. you still need REGULAR food to survive. You’re only suppose to replace one meal a day with those sort of things…… not every single one.

The SlimFast diet is actually one of the better ones out there because SlimFast is fortified with vitamins and minerals that are essential to the body. It’s certainly better than just skipping meals and other forms of nutrition altogether. However, you will still need to eat. Check out the following website for healthy meals and a nutrition guide for what you need to be getting on a daily basis: http://www.mypyramid.gov.

What I like doing is taking the Slim Fast liquid (or other Fitness drinks) and adding ice cubes and fresh fruit and mixing it in my smoothy maker.
The ice and stuff adds volume and I get to drink twice as much. So I feel that much more full.

I think your on the wrong road, as I do with MANY people dieting.

First of all, does that diet sound healthy? Not to me it doesn’t. You don’t want to change your diet so drastically, fast food one day, and then lettuce the next, its not healthy. You want to lose weight? Get healthy?

Eat Veggies, Fruits, Meats, Bread, EVERYTHING BUTTTTTTTTT… don’t eat so much! When your stomach is no longer in hunger pains, then maybe your full. Here’s an example, eat a bowl of wholesome cereal with whole grains and fiber for breakfast. For Lunch, eat a sandwich (ONE NORMAL SIZED SANDWICH) with lettuce, tomato, peppers, all your favorite veggies. Try a healthy whole grain bread, and don’t put on too much meat or cheese. For Dinner, have a small-reasonable sized portion of meat, don’t make it your whole meal! Eat a good portion of veggies, preferably fresh, or steamed. Steamed Asparagus is my favorite, if you need it, add a little cheese or butter, but don’t over do it! If you need snacks throughout the day, eat baby carrots, fresh fruit, etc. ALWAYS stay away from packaged foods! They are the worst for you, and you don’t want to know whats in them!

Most importantly, above anything else, and this is the one that people usually get wrong, STAY ACTIVE!! Jog (but avoid hard surfaces for long periods of time over decades, that’s bad on the joints). Walking is the best, walk briskly, especially after a heavy meal, my grandmother does this often and is VERY healthy. Join a gym, maybe, but I recommend taking up a hobby you like who cares if your good at it? Just do what you like to do that is excercise. Simply getting off the couch burns some calories.

I’ve ridden horses most of my life, and if it’s done right, it can be great excercise. I laid off the riding a little in the past couple years and started eating packaged foods. I put on some extra weight. I recently started eating better choices, as I explained above, and conditioning for Endurance Riding. This takes alot of movement on the horse, at a brisk speed, I am proud to say, I fit in the jeans I wore in high school now!

I hope this helps you, and others, GOOD LUCK!
