Your mom is right. You should be eating more. You should be eating snacks in between each meal. You don’t have to eat meat, but you should be eating more.

I think you are. But your hair loss could be due to your diet. I kind of agree with your mom, you need protein. Yes, the amount of food you eat is good for your age, but you need protein in your body.
Hope I gave a good answer!!

It doesn’t seem like you are getting enough protein, fiber or vitamins from fruits and vegetables. Your diet on this particular day is mostly carbohydrates. Do some research and try to find some vegetarian recipes that are more nutritious.

Not really. French toast and sausage should be replaced by cereal or scrambled eggs. Stir fry noodles are hardly healthy, and should be replaced by soup. Mac and cheese is worse, and it really doesn’t mix with orange juice. Sorry to say, she’s right.

Yeah that’s not many calories but it depends on how many you need based on your activity level. It looks like you’re eating mostly starchy foods. You’re not getting much protein which your body needs to rebuild muscle tissue, hair, etc. Might be why your hair is falling out. There are other sources of protein besides meat. Cheese, milk, yogurt or other dairy products are a good source. See if your mom will buy you a food counter book. You can get them almost everywhere that sells book, I think even Walmart has them. Get one that tells you how many calories, fat, protein, carbs, fiber, cholesterol, and sodium that foods have. Check out some calorie calculator websites like primusweb.com or myfitnesspal.com and they’ll help you determine how many calories per day you should eat based on your activity level. Make sure you’re eating a balanced diet. You won’t be very healthy if you’re just eating one type of nutrient like carbs or protein. It has to be a variety.

Hair loss can be due to diet, since hair is made of keratin a protein. There does seem to be a lack of protein in your diet. Being a vegetarian can be hard sometimes, try to eat more soy and bean products.

At 13, it is recommended that you eat 41.2 g of protein a day. It is extremely important that you are eating the right amount of protein when you are growing. My biology teacher warned about being vegetarian, when you’re still growing.

I do suggest eating lunch at school, since it is important.

Coffee is found to stop growth, so try not to drink that everyday.

Your stir-fry noodles you can add soy beans, beans, lentils, chick peas, and many more alternatives to meat, which are all good sources of protein. Eat hard cheese, muesli, etc.

Drink soya bean milk or if you’re not a vegan than milk. This helps with increase protein intake.

Also, need more fruits and veggies (juices don’t really replace it as it is usually filtered and lack fiber). Process stir-fry noodles isn’t good, Mac & Cheese is okay if it’s from scratch.
