AGGRESSIVE 5 MONTH OLD PUG PUPPY, PLEASE HELP!?

My pug puppy is 5 months old. I have had her given she was 7 weeks old. A couple of weeks to the month after I got her, she proposed bearing my mom over me – I am an adult, so it isn’t an emanate of age. We have the single alternative animal – the cat, who I have the 10 year + down payment with.

At initial the puppy proposed roaming my hair (she had crawled in to my hair when you met). I outlayed the lot of time with the puppy given I am home all day. We would play, take naps, etc. We had the great attribute in the beginning. Later, she became semi-aggressive towards me, though not so many towards my mother. She proposed nibbling. I attempted all – replacing my finger with toys or treats, jolt the can with pennies, floating air towards her, resolutely observant no as good as ignoring, etc. I after attempted sour apple spray. I can’t take the bath in sour apple as good as which won’t stop her from “digging” (as if she was digging in to dirt) my skin with her nails.

Now which she is bigger, she jumps, dives, chases the cat mercilessly, bites me (she will not take no for an answer – unequivocally stubborn), bites my mom infrequently (still not as many as me), she refuses to eat her food as good as will customarily eat treats (such as dusty chicken) or full of health tellurian food which you feed her (since she refuses to eat her own food, you have to feed her something, so full of health meat, the tiny veggies, tiny pieces of bread, etc). She will regularly nip as good as punch me until you lift her off. Things weren’t so bad prior to she could burst upon the furniture, though right divided I cannot mount to be around her the lot of the time. We try crating her for “time out” purposes, though which customarily creates her worse. She poos as good as afterwards cooking it.. there was the time where she would follow commands, go potty outside, etc. Those days have been left for the many part.

I review the lot about dogs prior to removing my puppy. I am the unequivocally peaceful person, kind as good as I have attempted to be firm. Sometimes the customarily approach in sequence for her to be pulled off me is by the hit (gentle) to the behind. I don’t similar to you do this, though it’s similar to an 8 – 9 bruise mauling animal starting for the kill as good as customarily I’m not the the single perplexing to lift her off/swat if necessary.

Nothing dire has happened to her given you got her during 7 weeks. We adore her unequivocally much. She was never even swatted until she was customarily chewing upon us ceaselessly with NO pointer of interlude regulating ANY methods. It is customarily apropos so aggravating to me… you have no assent in the home anymore. I can’t even unequivocally cruise rehoming her given I regularly longed for her, though additionally an additional chairman would substantially kick the crap out of her or enclosure her 24/7.

As distant as the tutor goes, I live in the tiny locale as good as no idea as to where to go. I checked the phone book as good as someone longed for to KEEP her during his place as good as even try EXTREME measures if necessary. I’m sorry, though I don’t feel similar to carrying my tiny beast repelled as good as maybe beaten.. as good as incompetent to see the customarily family she has unequivocally good known for the total month.

I longed for this puppy for years – substantially 5 years to be exact. I hadn’t had the dog given 1995. Sometimes I customarily feel similar to throwing my hands up as good as crying. I get no assent unless she is calm in the residence or she is VERY sleepy. This is causing the total domicile to be in upheaval. I exclude to give up upon her, though I need assistance like.. yesterday, or I’m starting to customarily block myself somewhere distant divided from her.
The breeder additionally says which the alternative puppies have been ‘fine’!
My cat is customarily good behaved… as good as my alternative dog (who I had for fourteen years) had the bit of stress when being left alone as good as was somewhat hyper, though zero similar to this puppy.

First thing’s first, she needs more exercise. Tons of it. Two walks a day minimum. Also, she’s at the perfect age for spaying right before she goes into heat. This will settle her down some as well. As for the biting, you need to follow this method and be consistent with it:

It sounds like the biggest issue is that she’s not gettting enough exercise. She’s a puppy and a pug.

As for eating, stop feeding her treats. Period. When a dog is hungry, they will eat. They’re into self preservation so they won’t starve themselves. Stop giving her anything but kibble no matter what she does. Treats ONLY for training. She’s not going to starve. It may be two days of skipped meals, but on the third day, she will eat. Guaranteed. No more table scraps. You have to be firm.

You can do this. I know it’s frustrating. You might to enroll her in a positive reinforcement training class. Find a trainer in your area here:
http://www.apdt.com
The best thing about training classes is that they teach you how to effectively deal with behavior like this. You find a good trainer and they are available by phone or email all week long inbetween classes. You train your dog every night during the week (“homework”) and this burns off energy as well.

Redirecting onto toys didn’t work with our last puppy. We had to give her timeouts, but we could never do it in anger. “What a bummer, Lily!” we would exclaim as we lifted her up, cradled her like a baby and deposited her in her crate. There was never anger or frustration, just the removal of the thing she wanted most – our attention. When we all started doing consistently EVERY time mouth touched skin even if it wasn’t intentionally, she got the hint and the mouthing stopped in a week. It gets to be a pain doing it every single time it happens, but that is how you have to do it. Half the time, we would come in to let her back out and she’d be sound asleep in her crate.

Good luck. You CAN get through this. Start with her spay, amp up the exercise and move from there.

WOW thats a long post. Firstly, take her for long walks, until the point she is panting and almost exhausted.

She obvoiusly recongises your mum as the Alpha and you as one of her litter mates. Enroll in a dog obedience class and dont take no for an answer. Be more stern with her. Try your local shelter first, they usually have classes.

All you had to say was that you give her bread and a diet not balanced for a dog and that she is eating poo to tell me that she is nutritionally starving. She is having hunger pangs and she is “screaming” at you that she is starving but you aren’t listening. What does a dog have to do? How much poop does she have to eat to get through that thick human skull of yours? LOL!

There is nothing wrong with human food but it sounds like you are feeding the wrong ingredients and not giving her any doggy vitamins, fiber, or oils. Dog food recipes are not simple and they are not for the faint hearted.
For the craziness, I would get raw soup bones from a butcher and crate her while she is eating those (with a towel of course.) This will give her good fats and calcium. Never feed cooked bones. Second, get a high quality dog food for her that she can’t resist like California Natural or the raw food diet – such as Nature’s Variety. Give her different foods each week, ONLY as long as they are the top-of-the-shelf foods from a pet boutique, not a grocery or discount store. You can mix top shelf foods without stomach upset. If she still refuses, then you must have the guts to let her go hungry until she eats. The maximum for this is three days. If she is still on a hunger strike after three days, there is something wrong and you need to take her to a vet. I have never seen a dog go longer than two days.

The poop eating is a red flag. Read up on Coprophagia and you will understand why nutritional deficiencies cause this.

When a dog digs at you it is telling you that it is desperate. Additionally, the nibbling and biting is about as clear as one can get to say I’M HUNGRY! Dogs are not stupid and they won’t eat highly processed, bacteria ridden low quality grocery store dog foods. Why should they when they can have human food?

My solution, which I personally do for my dogs, is feed California Natural (canned or Kibble that is soaked) alternating with raw food. I satisfy their human food craving by mixing in my meat scraps and sometimes carrots with their dinner. This fools them into thinking they just ate what I ate! LOL Also, it gives them variety. Never give anything fried and stick to wholesome vegetables like green beans. Do NOT feed anything white, such as potatoes, bread, or macaroni.

Make sure you are feeding on a schedule and maybe even playing food games, such as learning tricks before getting to eat and getting treats for those tricks. :) good luck

i think you should give her alot more exersize.
2 or three walks a day. alot of many dogs bad behaviour is purely down to lack of exersize.
i have a 15 week old golden retriever puppy and she gets 2 walks a day. if she misses out on one of her walks she is very badly behaved.

whenever she does something good reward her straight away witha treat and make a huge fuss out of her… she will learn its better to be good

you can show her who is boss without crating her or hitting her…

if she bites you say no place her on the floor and ignore her.
if she gets back up say no and put her on the floor again.
ignoring her will soon teach her that its wrong to behave like that.

her diet isnt good… bad diet can also effect her behaivour.
i suggest that try mixing her dried puppy chow warm water and dont let her eat anything else… you are treating her bad habits by giving her food lke that. it will also make her overweight in the long run!

and finally whatever you do please do not use that “trainer” i have never ever heard of a dog trainer who has the dog round at his for a month. you wont know what he is doing and you may never even get her back.

most dog trainers insist you bring your dog to a class or they come round to your house.
