WHAT CAN I DO TO KEEP MY FISH HEALTHY AND WITHOUT DYING?

I have my BABY fantail goldfish in the 2.6 gallon tank with filter as well as all.
I know it’s not large enough, do not discuss it me again.
I wish to keep him full of health whilst he’s the baby, as well as I’ll buy the brand new tank as he grows.
I feed him once or twice the day, as well as mislay all the additional pieces he do not eat.
I condition the water, cycle it, as well as everything.
Any alternative tips upon gripping him healthy?

maybe go to your local pet store and check the PH of the water to see what you might need to keep it where it should be. change the gravel every 2 weeks and you and your fish will be happy.

Keep the water cool, around 68-70. If you are having to remove food, cut back on the amount you give. Make sure there is lots of air from a pump going in. As a treat you can give him bloodworms and frozen brine shrimp..but only as a treat. Make his main diet a good quality pellet or flake food. If there is a incandescent light do not leave it on for long periods at a time. it will warm the water up in such a small tank. I lost my show fish because someone left the light on one day I was gone and it cooked him! You wouldn’t believe the amount of heat a little bulb can put out.
One thing…you better plan on getting that bigger tank soon. While fanceys don’t always get as large as comets. they grw fast too and you will need more room in the next 6-8 months.

Get a 10g with a filter that filters 30 GPH.

Have many hiding places things to sit in/under.

Get a quality food and vary his diet.

Change the water weekly, 25-35 %

Check the water parameters and act accordingly.

Miss a day of feeding each week.

Never tap on the tank, slam doors, or play loud music.

Get a quality, small sized gravel.

Keep the tank around 65-75F and keep it constant.

Add Bio colony and melafix when needed.

Keep the tank away from air vents, heaters and windows.

Good luck and have fun with your fish!!

Make sure you don’t put the fish bowl or tank in direct sunlight where it will overheat. This has happened to me before and it’s an easy mistake.

How about getting a book on Goldfish so you can learn everything there is to know about your pet? That would be a lot more informative and in-depth than what we can do here.
Many of them have chapters on fish diseases and stuff, so if your fish gets sick, you’ll have a handy reference guide to help you figure out what’s wrong. Best investment you can make for your pet’s health and happiness.
