veggies, fruit, lots of water, try eating things that are not fried. if you are going for meat, try grilled or lunch meat.
It’s difficult to choose a specific food but here is a general rule of thumb. When you go shopping at your supermarket, stick to the outer perimeter. This is where all the fruits and veggies are and your lean meats.
Remember you need to eat an excess of 3500 calories to gain a pound on top of whatever you are eating currently with your workout schedule. If I were you, I would concentrate on foods that have less bad fats, cholesterol, sugar, and sodium since it seems that you are already managing your weight well.
There are tons of healthy foods which are very low in calories. Here are some examples:
-fruits (almost any fruit is low in calories, with the exception of avocado)
-vegetables (again, most are low in calories except for potatoes)
-lowfat yogurt such as Yoplait light or other brands of light yogurt
-skim milk
-lean meats such as chicken breast or turkey
-white fish such as haddock or tilapia
-tofu or other vegetarian meat replacements such as Boca Burgers, Smart Dogs, etc
-Egg Beaters or egg whites
-rice cakes
-cereals such as Cheerios and Special K
-cereal bars such as Quaker Chewy bars or Special K bars
These are just some examples and there are many other healthy, low-calorie foods.
However, if you are already slim, you probably have a high metabolism and don’t need to be conscious of calories.
Good luck with your healthy lifestyle, and I hope that this list has helped you.
