Perhaps you could spend some time to prepare your ‘on the go’ food so that when you are rushing and want to make a healthy choice it will be there ready for you.
I find it a great advantage if I make a large salad the night before I need it then I’m not rushing to prepare my lunch and if I’m racing in and out of the house then I know it’s ready. I also have pre cooked meats (ie grilled chicken, fish, low fat ham etc) that I can add to the salad so it’s a half way decent meal.
Also have vegetable sticks pre cut so you can grab some, as well as ‘easy to eat’ fruit snacks. You also might be able to find a low fat/sugar snack bars in the grocery store so you can take a packet and pop it in your bag for snacking on.
I am terrible for eating bad stuff on the run, so I find at least having the food ready to heat and eat when I’m super busy the best way to help me make a healthy choice. I often have weight watchers frozen meals in the freezer for those nights when I only have time to zap a meal in the microwave.
cottage cheese, hummus with raw veggies, tuna salad and crackers, string cheese,

keeping cut up fruit in the freezer helps me a lot. I will then take a cup of the fruit to work with me and leave it out so that by the time lunch comes around it’s thawed out and ready to eat! I also cut up a pineapple about once a week and it lasts all week in the fridge. it’s a great snack and is very healthy!
You can save some time and energy by cooking things in larger quantities and then freezing small portions, creating your own convenient frozen foods. One idea is to make easy turkey meatballs (Mix 1 lb ground turkey, 1/4 cup breadcrumbs, 1 egg white, 1 pack frozen chopped spinach drained, garlic and onion powder–Make into little balls and drop into simmering lite tomato sauce and cook through) that can be tossed with whole wheat pasta with blanched veggies, or eaten as is. Double the recipe and you will have quite a few portions. Hope that helps.
Lowfat yogurt packs are really good for a dieter on the go. Just keep a pack of plastic spoons in your pantry and eat the pack on the go, and just throw the container and the spoon in the nearest trash can after you’re done. Bananas are also good. If you’re okay with a little bit of prep work, just go buy some small sandwich bags and fill them up with whole grain snacks like triscuits or whole grain cereal on the weekend or during your free time. On your way out the door, just grab one of the bags and you’re set.
Fruit is the best food to lose weight (according to Am Diabetes Assoc.) and does not take time to prepare. Cut up some apples and avocados or eat peaches on the go right from your hand. Very soon they will be at the height of their season. Do you know what a carb is? Eat all you want of good carbs and avoid bad carbs.
There is a big difference between grapefruits and chocolate cake. Many places sell cut up watermelon. See site below with lots more tips on losing weight and the best foods to eat. Salt has no calories but can make you fat. See quote by governor of CA saying that under water weight.
i on d same road as u. drink a lots of water n exercise. b vegetarian n reduce carbo foods. juz try 2 control.
Carbs found in whole foods are fine (fruits and vegetables), so eat fully of these. Nuts are rich and satisfying (not salted, not roasted). Protein bars: read the lables, and avoid sugars. You are a wise woman to improve your diet, and the changes you’re making will benefit you for the rest of your life. Brava!! Do you have a Trader Joe in your area? This store has good goodies for you. Also, make your own healthful dishes, freeze them, and enjoy them when time doesn’t allow for cooking.
