Okay when my relatives initial paid for the yorkie pomeranian brew they took her to Petsmart to be neat as well as my mother paid for Sentry Pro Flea as well as Tick shampoo for those in in between bathing baths as well as never had the complaint with it. Well we only not long ago ran out of it as well as she went to Petsmart as well as paid for Perfect Coat All Natural Oatmeal French Vanilla scented shampoo as well as now i only gave her the bath as well as it seems to be parching her skin out.She doesn’t have any skin conditions my oldster checked her. I now feed her Royal Canine which is ostensible to be full of health for her cloak so which can’t be it. And whats worse is which the man during Petsmart who helped us collect it out pronounced thats what he uses upon his dog. Should i ask my oldster as well as see what she recommends? I wish to get second opinions prior to i buy anything since i wish whats most appropriate for my dog. What kind of shampoo do we use? What to do!?Thanks!

I use medicated shampoo which you can buy online. I use either malaseb, dermabynss, pyoben, sulfoxydex. All of them are good brands.
You can buy online at kvvetsupplies
In winter, coats tend to be dryer so it may be that you are over-bathing your dog. The Sentry flea and tick shampoo is actually pretty rough on a dog. The shampoo you described should have been a good one, but if you over-bathe, any shampoo can dry your dog’s coat out. You might consider cutting down on the bath and ask your Vet about adding a half teaspoonful of Norwegian Cod Liver Oil to your dog’s food. It’s a great oil, should be clear and odorless to be good, and comes in a tinted bottle as it needs to be stored out of sunlight and needs to be refrigerated.
There are other oils that are great for dogs. Ours take an organic fish oil cap each (vet approved amount for their size- 55 lbs) which is made for humans and does not have any mercury in it.
You can also scramble an egg for your dog a few times a week. Don’t add any salt or other spices.
I use different kinds of shampoos, bathe my dogs every three weeks in the winter, twice a month in the summer. I use various shampoos with oatmeal/aloe usually. I make a homemade shampoo that is great on their coats and contains: Guiness beer, oatmeal, egg yolk, aloe, Vit E and a bit of Johnson’s baby shampoo or doggie “baby shampoo”.
I make a lot of things for them, homemade, incl. their biscuits.
If your dog’s coat is getting dry with that suggested shampoo, I’d guess that over-bathing is the likely culprit.
I generally advise ppl to buy a good hypo-allergenic shampoo that is soap/detergent free & best would be perfume/dye free also. Never use heavily perfumed soaps they can cause reactions often in dogs. I personally use Kenic line of shampoos – they are all hypo (except medicated) & soap/detergent free & smell nice. I would never use Sentry or Hartz brand of anything – they are cheapest & worst pet products in my opinion.
